Thank you for requesting
an Independent Study
for your child’s absence.
Independent Study allows an opportunity for a student to stay up-to-date with instruction during a planned absence. This opportunity is available for unavoidable circumstances, but it does not replace the learning experience derived from attendance at school.
*The maximum amount of independent days allowed for the school year is 34 days.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL 4 STEPS BELOW for Independent Study.
If you have any questions, or if you need help printing documents, please contact the Selma office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For questions about individual assignments, please email your child's teacher directly.
Complete the Work Log.
Parents must document work completion on the Work Log sheet. Without the work log, the Independent Study packet will not be accepted. Please remember to SIGN and INITIAL the Work Log sheet. Submit the Work Log to the Selma Office together with your child's completed work no later than 2 days after your child's return to school.
Turn in your child's completed Independent Study work.
DUE DATE: Please submit your child's Independent Study work no later than 2 days after your child's return to school. Submit the following two items to the Selma Office by the due date:
Completed work packet
Signed and completed Work Log.
Late work cannot be accepted by the attendance office.
NOTE: Please do not submit Independent Study work with regular homework!
Have your child hand it in to their teacher as a separate packet so it does not get overlooked.
