MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello Larchmont at Selma Families,

We hope you are safe and healthy. As we are adjusting to distance learning, we appreciate your patience, trust, and communication. One avenue of communication is through our Site Council. We hosted our first zoom meeting of the school year. Thank you to our lovely representatives! Please see their contact information and agenda notes below. If you are interested in joining, please email Sarah.

It’s time for Larchmont to go All In! Our Annual Giving Drive has officially started and we have a goal for LCS Selma to reach 100% participation. We can achieve this goal by every family giving meaningfully. Check out our website to send your donation today!

We will not be administering the NWEA assessment this fall. In its place, teachers will be using data from a few sources: MDTP, Prodigy, and ReadTheory. We have already administered MDTP to our 6th and 7th graders (May-August) and teachers will be using class time to help students access Prodigy and ReadTheory. Please let us know if you have any questions.

“One lives not just for oneself but for one’s community.”

Our country lost such an icon and trailblazer with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. She was an inspiring example of determination and advocacy for equality for all of us.

I'm writing now with a couple of quick updates and requests:

Annual Giving Drive | Advocacy | Staying Healthy

Preparing for College During the Pandemic | Curriculum | Assessments

Learning Loss Mitigation Funds | PPP Update

As an intentionally diverse school committed to nurturing critical thinking, Larchmont teachers work to bring in voices that have historically not been represented in the curriculum... READ MORE.

Improv Drop-In Now Open to 5th and 6th Graders!

Thursdays: 3pm-3:45pm

Teacher, Maja Watkins, will hold improv games virtually for 5th AND 6th graders to connect and build relationships while exploring their imaginations! During this unique time, improv games can be used as a way to collaborate with one another and get to know one another on a deeper level! This will be on a drop-in base so students are not obligated to come but are welcome if they'd like to pop in! Maja will be conducting activities on-going that all incorporate Social and Emotional Learning.
