MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Larchmont at Selma Families,
It was wonderful to see many of you at our PowerSchool and Google Classroom parent trainings! If you missed it, please see the video and slides below. September 15 marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. We wish to thank and honor the generations of Hispanic and LatinX who have contributed to our rich history and continue to build our communities. If you would like to learn more, visit HispanicHeritageMonth.gov.
Our Annual Giving Drive contributes to more than 70% of the funds we raise for the whole year. The money funds our smaller class sizes, enrichments, salaries for our highly talented faculty and staff, college counseling, rent for school sites, books, materials, school equipment, and other concrete budgeted items. We've got 6 weeks to raise $1.6 million for Larchmont. Make your pledge today!
Volunteering and community engagement is a cornerstone of Larchmont Charter School. Your participation will make things better for everyone and show our kids the power of volunteering, just like we ask of the students. Learn how you can volunteer at Selma.
7th Grade Schedule Change
Here is the new Wednesday schedule which will begin on Wednesday, September 23.
Please see the email from Hannah for full details.
The main change is that students will have reduced asynchronous assignments to offset the additional math time on screen for Wednesdays.
If a student is in the Grade Level 7th Math, 10-10:45am will be asynchronous assignment work time.
If a student is in the Advanced 7th Math, 11-11:45am will be asynchronous assignment work time.
If a student is in Algebra 1, the only schedule change is to academic support time.

Assembly & Parent Coffee Wednesday, September 23
Please join us from 8:30-9:00am with the Zoom link in the LCS Online Calendar.
Our Parent Coffee will be an opportunity to meet with Val, our school psychologist, and Alison, our clinical social worker, after assembly from 9:00-10:00am.
Also look for the Zoom link in your Wednesday morning email.
Powerschool and Google Classroom Parent Training
If you missed our training this week, please see this video and slides.
Reminder: If you wish to receive daily or weekly google classroom summaries, please accept the email invite coming from teacher or office manager. Once accepted, you will receive summaries for all of your student’s classes.
Filming Videos On Chromebooks
There’s a camera app installed on the Chromebooks.
Click on the app launcher (bottom left). Looks like a circle within a circle.
Select the camera app.
Once the app opens select video.
Click on record to start. Click again to stop.
The file can be found in the gallery.
Our Chromebooks have limited storage space, so the files should be deleted when no longer needed.
Student Absences
If your child will be absent or miss a class, please contact our Office Managers: Chris, Danielle, and the teacher. Please complete the Distance Learning Attendance Form daily if your student is unable to attend the live zoom sessions but participated asynchronously.
