First Full Week--You Made It!
Welcome back, everyone!!
Congrats on making it through the first full week of the 2020-21 school year distance learning!
It’s been wonderful seeing kids having fun and building community at assembly and morning sing. It’s been great too to hear the feedback from many of you impressed at how organized everything is and what a wonderful job the teachers are doing in trying circumstances. Thank you so much for being patient and kind and assuming positive intent in all your interactions – we know we’re all stretched and living with so much newness and uncertainty.
Our teachers and leaders are continuing training in the area of anti-bias and anti-racist education and institutional practices. This work is urgent as we see more racial strife nationally and commemorate the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington.
We are bringing Larchmont’s Distance Learning Policy and our Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan (LCAP)and the associated Learning Loss Mitigation Spending Plan. These plans are focused on preventing and mitigating learning loss while we’re physically closed with special emphasis on ensuring equity for our highest-need students. Please read through the draft plans feel free to provide your suggestions and feedback.
We’re excited to see everyone at the upcoming Back to School Nights – please check your campus calendar for more information.
Thank you so much for all you do!
Warmly,
Amy
