A letter from your Principal:
Dear Larchmont Charter School Friends and Families,
The beginning of a school year brings much excitement, curiosity, and wonder. As we begin our fourth year as a school, we have much to celebrate. Although it?s premature to reveal an overall test score, our students did very well on end of the year testing by the state. Our teachers rock!! We are opening a new school, Larchmont Charter West Hollywood, and we are expanding our own school to include a new Primary Center at St. Ambrose Church.
For those who have been with LCS from the beginning, four years sounds like a long time; and in the life of a charter school it may be. In the life of a school, a four-year-old school is in its infancy, especially one that has not yet completed growth to capacity. This infant school needs our nurturing to bring it solidly into maturity.
You have all heard me say, ?If you don?t love change, if you don?t love volunteering, LCS is not for you.? Our school is at the stage in which we need to examine our values, our program, and our resources in order to recommit to our mission. We have chosen to implement a high-quality school model for our children, one that is unique in the world of charters. We believe that small class sizes, supporting teacher assistants, and an enriched program benefit all children. In order to manifest this kind of program in a public school, WE NEED YOU.
As the year begins, you will be offered opportunities to participate in both fundraising and volunteering. We need 100% participation, at any level, for our fundraising, and we need all parents to find a niche in which to volunteer. Your dollars support the 40% of our program not covered by state funds; your time fills roles and services that we would otherwise have to pay for. It takes all of us.

One of the three pillars on which our school stands is the concept of community. It is through working together for a common goal that one achieves a true community. Let?s all join hands as we walk together into this new school year!! Our kids deserve it!!
Thank you all in advance for your generosity.
With excitement, curiosity, and wonder,
Wendy
