2008/2009 Pledge DriveDear Larchmont Charter School families and Friends of Larchmont Charter School, As a parent-founded, independent charter only part of our funding (approximately 70%) comes from the city, state and federal governments. So to continue to make LCS an extraordinary place of joy and learning for our children, we ask our parents, families and extended community of friends to contribute financially to help cover this gap in funding. Since our inception in 2005, every fall we launch the LCS Pledge Drive, our most important fundraiser which generates 50% of our total annual fundraising. Monies raised from the drive are used in the current school year. This year, our 2008-2009 Pledge Drive goal is $300,000. That is an average of $1,800 per student. We need your financial support to keep and attract our highly qualified teachers, to maintain small classes and to ensure an assistant in every classroom. Your gift will also enable us to continue our exceptional arts enrichment and physical education programs and provide professional development for our faculty. And last, but not least, these monies help offset the costs of renting our campuses at Hollygrove and St. Ambrose. In addition to our financial goal, we strive to achieve 100% participation. Thus we ask every family to give at their highest capacity no matter the level. No amount is too small or under-appreciated. And all contributions are tax deductible. We believe in the impotance of socio-economic diversity, a dedication to community and al constructivist learning approach that is all inclusive.
