Calling All Crafty Kids!
If you want to help Larchmont and make some extra money, come sell your crafts at the Kid Powered Bazaar at the LCS Harvest Festival and Bake Sale on December 9. Part of the proceeds will go to the school and part to you for your work! It’s a great way to make some extra holiday cash. To sign up, send an email entitled, "KID POWERED BAZAAR" to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as you can so we can plan to feature your items!!
Save the date of Wednesday, December 13 from 8:30-10:30 am to enjoy a big event for our Selma campus community with a potluck buffet, musical performances, art exhibitions and more!
During parent conference week, from Monday, December 11-Friday, December 15, the book fair will take place, so plan on taking some time to check it out. This year, there will not be a bake sale, however we will do a Holiday Sale. That means any arts and crafts or other donated items will be for sale on campus. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the office. Proceeds from the book fair and holiday sale will go toward Pali, the 6th grade camping trip in January.
Parent conferences will take place Monday, December 11 through Friday, December 15. In the coming weeks, teachers' schedules for signing up for conferences will be posted on Signup.com and will be sent to families via e-mail. During that time, we will have Minimum Days, so please anticipate planning to pick up your student at 12:50 pm. Registration for parent conferences will come soon.
You will soon be sent a link to confirm your contact information for the LCS Selma student directory. You'll also have an opt-out option. Please be sure to fill that out so that the directory can become available before winter break.

LAPD Toy Drive with SWAT Team on Campus
Don't be startled! On Friday, December 8, Selma Elementary School (the school with which we are co-located), will have the LAPD in uniforms on campus to give away toys from 7:00 am - 10:00 am. The campus is safe and sound. It's just a special event for their school.
A fun way to celebrate your child’s birthday is to purchase a new hard cover children’s book to be a permanent part of the Larchmont Charter School at Selma Library collection. Children will get to choose from an assortment of hard cover books including award winners and new classics, fiction and non-fiction, biographies, and graphic novels to find one just right for his/her birthday book! As a birthday book, it will have a special bookplate placed inside stating that it was given to the Library in honor of a birthday. Birthday books are announced and shown at the last Wednesday assembly of your birthday month and are checked out first to the children who donate them. Birthday book participation information will be sent for July, August, September and October birthdays, and regularly each month after that.
