I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Over the past few years, Larchmont has become somewhat of a second home. I started as an Instructional Aide, but this is my first year being a Lead Teacher! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy making art, riding my bike to various farmers markets, doing (and teaching!) yoga, and hiking Griffith. I loves Larchmont Charter School because we promote compassionate, student-oriented learning.
Where did you go to school and what was your major?
I've had a long educational journey. Before diving into the of education world and earning a Multiple Subject teaching credential from California State University, Northridge, I attended and graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a BA in Communication Studies and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a Visual Communications degree.
What is your highest degree held?
In addition to a Multiple Subject Credential, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.
Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I wanted to be an ally for children and facilitate a safe space for learning, growing, and exploring this great big world!
How long have you been teaching/working in education?
This is my first year as a lead teacher!
What is your favorite thing about LCS?
My favorite thing about LCS is that it is a community of thoughtful collaborators who inspire grace, curiosity, and risk from the heart.
What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
I ALWAYS read (more like memorized) Eric Hill's Spot series.
