I am a Brooklynite from New York and moved out to the Golden State in 1994. I love the New York Mets, camping, photography, live music, reading, writing, and being with my family. My favorite place in the world is Lassen Volcanic National Park. I have visited there for the last 19 years in a row and even got married there. When I was a student in elementary school I loved reading and social studies. My favorite teacher was Ms. Patron, but it was my best friends mom Marcy Levinson that really got me interested in education. She is my mentor and the greatest teacher I have ever known!

Where did you go to school and what was your major?
CW Post College English Major/History Minor

What is your highest degree held?

Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I really love making an impact on young minds.

How long have you been teaching/working in education?
This will be my 19th year as an elementary teacher. I also spent time working with second language learners in Panama and Guatemala while I was traveling for a year.

What is your favorite thing about LCS?
I love the freedom to create the curriculum. I also love working with the students and their families.

What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
I love reading so this is a tough question. Being a New Yorker and growing up in an apartment building with an annoying little sister, I would have to say Judy Blume's Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. I also loved Choose Your Own Adventure books because it gave me the opportunity to make important decisions.
