LFP - School Psychologist
I got my Masters in Educational Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and have been working as a School Psychologist at Larchmont Charter School since 2010. I love counseling and incorporating mindfulness, yoga, art, music, and games in my sessions with students. I went to Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences for middle and high school where I was introduced to Council, which is another passion of mine. I live in Santa Monica with my husband, two children, and black lab.

What is your highest degree held?
Masters in Educational Psychology
Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I always wanted to work with children and after working in a preschool that wasn’t developmentally appropriate I knew I wanted to have a career that would allow me to make a positive difference in children’s lives. I was an anxious child and it wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized that other people had the same thoughts that I did (about anxiety but also so many other things). Sharing, connecting, and realizing I wasn’t alone (or crazy) was very healing for me and that sparked a desire to do some form of counseling/therapy.
How long have you been teaching/working in education?
I was briefly an assistant preschool teacher in 2002 but didn’t return to education until 2007 and then it was when I was completing my training to become a school psychologist.
What is your favorite thing about LCS?
I love the diversity and how LCS embraces individuality and creativity.
What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
In High School I loved “She’s Come Undone” by Wally Lamb.
