Earlier today, the LAUSD Board of Education, in a vote of 6-1, approved LCS to extend through 12th grade. This is very exciting news and will make LCS only the 2nd charter school in the country to go K-12 and whose mission is to serve a racially, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse group of parents. There are too many thanks to go around, but this would not have been made possible without the work of so many people. Thank you to the parents who were able to show up today (and those that offered); your support was well received by the LAUSD Board. Thank you to the parents who spoke - Glenda Reyes, DeAnna Gravillis, Craig Rhea, Myra Salinas, Tanya Barrow, and Susan Lee. Your words inspired and moved the Board.
Thank you to our teachers and our school leaders who have made LCS such a magical place that has inspired the confidence of the LAUSD Board.
And as always, thank you to the founding parents whose vision and hard work over the years has made LCS the transformative place it is.
