Growing up I moved quite a bit. I always managed to make friends. Some friendships lasted longer than others. I learned that putting yourself out there and making a connection is now difficult if the effort exists. I am constantly attempting to learn new trades. Creating art and music is something I have grown passionate about.
Where did you go to school and what was your major?
I attended Cal State Northridge during my undergrad where I earned my Bachelor's in Public Health with a minor in Biology. I am now back at CSUN attending the graduate program.
What is your highest degree held?
Bachelor's in Science (Currently working towards Master's )
Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I have been working with inner-city communities and at risk youth for years prior to taking a definite step into the education system. I truly believe that I can create connections with students and their guardians that will make somewhat of a difference. Even if the difference is considering to jump out of one's comfort zone.
How long have you been teaching/working in education?
What is your favorite thing about LCS?
I appreciate the culture. Faculty and staff alike work in unity here.
What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
I grew up reading Harry Potter. What I find impressive is the journey this author traveled. She created an entire new world. If that is not a perfect example of defying our abilities, then I'm not sure what is.
