My name is Jennifer Bae and I will be the second grade teacher at Larchmont Charter School in West Hollywood for the 2017-2018 school year. This will be my first year joining the LCS family and I am truly excited to get to know my students and staff. When I am not in my classroom, I am either hiking with my husband and my dog “Beastie” or sitting at a coffee shop (reading a book or planning lessons).

Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I first realized my passion for teaching through my first grade teacher. She instilled a desire in me by demonstrating that learning can be fun and exciting! I inspire to be a teacher that makes going to school exciting, lessons fun and engaging, and conversations deep and thought-provoking. I hope my students leaves the classroom each day knowing a little more of how the world works and that kindness goes a long way.

What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
My favorite book was “Jumanji” by Chris Van Allsburg.
