I am from South Korea and I am passionate about teaching chemistry in a fun and relevant way. I spend my leisure time listening to K-pop and watching Korean TV shows and movies on Netflix. I also like looking at sunsets and going to the beach.

Where did you go to school and what was your major?
I majored in Chemistry at ChungAng University in Korea for undergrad, and Atmospheric Sciences at UCLA for Master’s degree. I also majored in Teaching at Biola University for another Master of Arts degree.

What is your highest degree held?
Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Science in Atmospheric Sciences

Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
I like chemistry and that’s because my high school chemistry teacher was really fun. I would also like my students to realize that chemistry is fun and relevant. I also find joy in encouraging my students so they can believe in themselves and fulfill their potential.

How long have you been teaching/working in education?
I have been teaching full time for a little more than 6 years with my teaching credential and about 4 years before that. So altogether about 10 years.

What is your favorite thing about LCS?
Diversity of students and staff, Constructivist learning.

What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
Chicken Soup for the Soul
