I should start off by saying that I have an awesome dog, named Remy. He is a golden retriever and cocker spaniel mix, but I think he’s part deer because he has so many spots! We live in West Hollywood along with my husband, Ryan. Contrary to what many of my students think, I do not live at school and I, too, have friends of my own! When I’m not teaching, I like to doodle or read and I love to cook, eat sushi, watch Survivor re-runs and relax.
Where did you go to school and what was your major?
BA – Chapman University
Teaching Credential – CSU Fullerton
What is your highest degree held?
Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
Many of my former teachers have had a lasting, positive impact on my life, which ultimately lead me to want to be a teacher as well. I love working with young children because, honestly, they are relatable to me! My favorite part of teaching Kindergarten is watching emergent learners become experts on topics.
How long have you been teaching/working in education?
This will be my 4th year as a lead kindergarten teacher and my 9th year in a classroom setting.
What is your favorite thing about LCS?
The community! I’m a new LCS teacher and I already feel like I am part of the family.
What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
I loved Shel Silverstein poems (especially ‘Hug O’ War’ and ‘Hector the Collector’) and The Giving Tree.
