LCS is
committed to having the best and brightest teaching staff, a low
student:teacher ratio and a rich curriculum for students that includes
music, P.E., art and the Edible School Yard program. To ensure we can
continue to offer these programs, which we consider mission-critical, we
need to fundraise annually. Along with the challenge of receiving
$1,800 less per student than traditional LAUSD schools receive, LCS has
the additional expense of rent for our two school campuses. Through a
variety of fundraisers and events,
the LCS community comes together to fund our exceptional
current and future educational programs.

Please note: Donations to the school are completely voluntary; no family is required to donate to be enrolled or to participate fully in the LCS experience.
Parent volunteerism is a cornerstone of our school’s culture. We depend on thousands of hours of parent volunteer time every year! Our hope is that each family will attempt to volunteer 50 hours per child enrolled per year. Our dynamic and dedicated parent body serves the mission at Larchmont Charter School in a variety of ways, including participating in more than 30 committees on both our campuses. Many of our committees are listed below; it's a long, distinguished list representing the many talents and contributions of our parents. Each of the committee chairs also serves on the LCS Council, which is an advisory body comprised of parents, teachers and staff who meet monthly to discuss key issues facing LCS. To get involved, email volunteer@larchmontcharter.org, and we’ll help get you started.
If you would like to be more involved in activities that take place on our campuses during the school day, please email volunteer@larchmontcharter.org.
Art, Music, Garden, Office, Library: These committees coordinate parent assistance in helping the front office as well as providing assistance to our Art, Music, Garden and Library programs – a wonderful way to spend time on campus, learn more about the daily curriculum and meet members of the LCS staff.
Lunch: The Lunch Committee is dedicated to finding lunches that are the most healthy and delicious possible and also allow us to meet the guidelines of the Federal Free and Reduced Priced Lunch program. This dedicated team comes to our campuses every day to assist in serving lunch to our hungry students.
If you would like to be more involved in activities that raise vital funds for our programs, including a variety of fun community events, please email volunteer@larchmontcharter.org.
Pledge Drive: The Pledge Drive Committee spearheads our annual campaign, which in 2011 surpassed the ambitious goal of garnering $500,00 in pledges from LCS families and hasn't looked back. In orchestrating the single most critical fundraiser of the year, this team helps ensure LCS has the funds to continue to provide mission-critical programs.
Fiesta: Fiesta is our highly anticipated annual fundraiser party, held at the end of each school year. Fiesta brings our parent community together to bid on fantastic items in a silent auction and celebrate another incredible year at our school.
World’s Fair: Every year this team creates an outdoor festival where the many different cultures and nationalities of LCS families are represented and celebrated. Parents and students host cultural booths which offer food, crafts and other ways to explore a nationality. Getting their LCS Passports stamped at all the booths is an added adventure for the students.
Garage-A-Rama: This committee plans the widely successful and highly attended annual all-family garage sale held on the Hollygrove campus each Spring.
Larchmont Boulevard Fair: As a neighborhood school, we are thrilled to participate in the Larchmont Boulevard Fair each year. Along with other area non-profits, LCS has a booth on the boulevard, which is closed to traffic for the day. This committee comes up with fun activities and staffs the booth. Sometimes, there’s a dunk tank!
Jog/Sprint-A-Thon: Our Jog/Sprint A Thon Committee organize this annual student-driven fundraiser. All LCS students solicit pledges from family and friends for the number of laps they complete at the daylong event.
