Cassey is a transplant from the midwest. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and earned her teaching credential from the Cal State TEACH program. This will be her third year as a lead teacher. Cassey has been a part of the Larchmont community since 2010, when her oldest son started in first grade. Cassey has two boys who continue to attend Larchmont and are now at Selma and LFP. Cassey loves working at Larchmont Charter School because of the focus on the whole child and collaboration among the community.

University of Minnesota--Twin Cities B.S. major: Recreation Resource Management; minor: Forestry​

What is your highest degree held?
Teaching Credential from Cal State TEACH​

Why did you want to be a teacher/work in education?
​I chose to work in education because I wanted to work with children from diverse backgrounds and be a part of changing public education in Los Angeles.​

How long have you been teaching/working in education?
I have been teaching for two years.​

What is your favorite thing about LCS?
​My favorite thing about LCS is the community of families. I feel connected and supported by all.​

What was your favorite book when you were the age of your students?
​I LOVED "There is a Monster at the end of the Book: starring Lovable Furry Old Grover" by Jon Stone.​
